Day 63: Hugs

This is Day 63 of the Positive 100, a countdown to Rare Disease Day 2014 and an exercise in being positive despite it all.

Hugs lasting 20 seconds have been proven to improve your mood and happiness because they trigger the release of certain hormones. Hugs are a universal show of support and they can almost always make you feel better, even if they come from your teddy bear.

Shaunessy the bear has been giving hugs for 29 years.

I have had this guy since I was born, and he has never been all that far away, even if he isn’t sitting on the bed, he is close enough that he can be found for any necessary hugs.

Who gives the best hugs? Share your answer on social media with the hashtag #100positive days on TwitterInstagram and Google+

Also, you can sign up to be emailed a recap each week of the challenge.
